Compensation

The estimated annual salary for this position is $65,000 - $80,000, depending on experience and qualifications.

About the Role

This Payroll Processing Specialist will be responsible for administering payroll processing and execution of pay for multi-state employees. The ideal candidate will have 3 years' experience in payroll processing, proficiency in Workday, and a strong understanding of payroll software, including ADP, Workday, and PeopleSoft 8.0.

Key Responsibilities

  • Maintain production records, timesheets, and individual ad hoc payment request forms into the Workday database system.
  • Prepare and process garnishment payments to federal, state, and local jurisdictions for wage attachments and child support.
  • Complete verification of employment for various agencies.
  • Oversee the calculation of wages, payments, and deductions to ensure compliance with supplemental payments.
  • Maintain appropriate internal controls, policies, and procedures for all payroll activities.
  • Maintain knowledge of organizational pay practices, payroll administration, DOL and State pay labor laws, and Federal and state regulations.
  • Maintain confidentiality of sensitive employee data and ensure all payroll information is maintained in accordance with relevant laws.
  • Answer employee questions and troubleshoot issues as deemed appropriate for resolution.
  • Relies on experience and judgment to accomplish department and organizational goals.
  • Ability to work in a team environment.

Required Qualifications

  • High School diploma required; college courses or certifications preferred.
  • Fundamental Payroll Certification or Certified Payroll Professional, preferred.
  • Strong demonstrated proficiency in Workday, preferred.
  • 3 years' experience using payroll software, required.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Outlook), required.
  • Position requires fluency in English; written and oral communication.
