Agcor Steel is seeking a skilled Procurement Specialist to join its Supply Chain team. This role plays a vital part in managing inventory levels and ensuring optimal costs.
Job Summary:
The Procurement Specialist will be responsible for purchasing activities, including material buying, supplier evaluation and selection, order quantities, and delivery requirements. They will also track inventory levels, set and maintain optimal reorder points and quantities, and reconcile and resolve any open purchase orders and invoice discrepancies with vendors.
Key Responsibilities:
- Purchasing: Perform purchasing activities, including material buying, supplier evaluation and selection, order quantities, and delivery requirements.
- Inventory Management: Constantly track inventory levels to properly manage procurement process, set and maintain optimal reorder points and quantities, and investigate and correct inventory discrepancies.
- Vendor Management: Reconcile and resolve any open purchase orders and invoice discrepancies with vendors, handle inventory quality issues from suppliers, and other duties as assigned.
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in business or supply chain preferred
- 1+ years of purchasing experience required, 3 years preferred
- Knowledge of inventory control and manufacturing processes
- Ability to troubleshoot and correct inventory discrepancies
- Perform strategic buying to manage optimal inventory levels
- ERP experience preferred
- Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Outlook, etc.)
- Excellent organizational and time management skills
- Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills
