Job Summary

The Chief Technology Officer is a senior leadership position responsible for establishing and directing the strategic and tactical goals, policies, and procedures for the Information Technology division. This role partners with other senior leaders to create, establish, and maintain the strategic vision for all of information technology.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement the IT strategic plan, providing updates to the board.
  • Direct and coordinate all activities of Information Technology (IT) Operations, including Infrastructure Engineering, Infrastructure Operations and Monitoring, Storage Management, Middleware and Release Management, Cloud Engineering, Enterprise Platforms, Service Management, and API Platform.
  • Assist with and prioritize the IT needs of all areas, meeting with Senior Management Team members regularly to assure strategic and tactical goals are being met.
  • Manage IT governance, including data security policies, IT policy and administration, change control, vendor management, risk controls, Sarbanes Oxley (SOX), GLB, Privacy Act, KYC, etc.
  • Prepare and manage the annual IT budget, delivering quarterly reviews to the CIO and management technology committee.
  • Manage staff, including performance reviews, time and attendance, workflow management, and employee relations, responsible for employee development and retention.
  • Work closely with subordinate employees to implement changes in workflow or procedures.
Additional Accountabilities
  • Perform special projects and additional duties as required.
  • Consistently adhere to regulatory and compliance policies and standards linked to the job, completing required compliance trainings.
Job Requirements
  • Education level required: Undergraduate Degree (4 years or equivalent).
  • Minimum experience required: 15+ Years of management of an IT/Operations area of a financial services company.
  • 10+ years' experience managing large cross-functional teams and large domains of business technology with strategically influencing senior-level management and key stakeholders.
  • 10+ years' experience in a large bank, including OCC and regulatory oversight.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Education level preferred: Master's Degree (or Postgraduate equivalent).

  • Comprehensive knowledge of modern technologies, including Cloud, telecommunications, networks, and software applications, and information security.
  • Strong business skills, banking experience, and vendor management skills.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to work with senior management and all levels in the organization.
  • Excellent leadership skills and ability to coach and mentor team members.
  • Regular travel will be required.
  • Physical demands (ADA): The job requires a moderate degree of physical exertion and stamina, such as standing, sitting, walking, driving, or infrequent lifting.
