About the Role:

  • Codify inpatient and outpatient encounters with precision and accuracy using ICD-10-CM, PCS, CPT, and HCPCS coding systems.
  • Ensure compliance with CMS regulations, Official Coding Guidelines, and Health Information Management policies.
  • Collaborate with leadership to obtain physician clarification for incomplete or ambiguous documentation.
  • Analyze electronic medical records to identify relevant information for coding and billing purposes.
  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of coding classification systems, regulatory changes, and clinical content standards.

Requirements:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent required.
  • Familiarity with anatomy, physiology, disease pathology, and medical terminology essential.
  • Ability to accurately translate written diagnostic descriptions into ICD-10-CM codes.
  • Proficiency in navigating electronic medical records and utilizing coding software.
  • Possession of excellent communication and organizational skills.
