Job Summary:
We are actively hiring for a Registered Nurse (RN) PreOp PACU position at one of our state-of-the-art facilities. As a Perioperative Nurse Specialist, you will be responsible for providing high-quality patient care and support throughout the preoperative, intraoperative, and postoperative periods.
Responsibilities:
- Assess patients' preoperative and postoperative status to ensure optimal care and safety
- Develop individualized perianesthesia plans of care, implementing interventions as needed
- Manage patient recovery from anesthesia, including pain and comfort management
- Communicate effectively with patients, families, and healthcare teams to ensure seamless care transitions
- Delegate tasks according to state Nurse Practice Act requirements and facility policies
- Document nursing care completely, accurately, and legibly
- Promote patient advocacy and maintain privacy and confidentiality
- Participate in quality review and performance improvement projects
- Maintain required competencies and pursue professional growth
Requirements:
- Graduate of an Accredited School of Nursing
- One year of PreOperative or PACU experience required
- Medical/surgical nursing experience
- Current state licensure to practice within good standing
- Successful completion of Basic Life Support (BLS) or Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS) within 90 days of employment
