Purchasing Director

Special-Lite Inc is seeking a highly skilled Purchasing Manager to lead our purchasing strategy and oversee all activities involved in the identification and acquisition of materials and services used at our company.
Key Responsibilities:- Establish performance metrics for measurement, comparison, or evaluation of factors affecting the supply chain.
- Monitor the performance of suppliers, assessing their ability to meet quality and delivery requirements; identify and qualify new suppliers in collaboration with other departments.
- Negotiate prices for raw materials and delivery with suppliers, vendors, and/or shipping companies.
- Create and execute plans to meet annual cost reduction targets of the company.
- Evaluate supplier risks and create mitigation recommendations.
- Lead bi-annual physical inventory count of materials.
- Develop and maintain contracts for suppliers.
- Analyze current inventories and procedures; suggest improvements to increase efficiency of supply chain and profitability.
- Develop policies to increase efficiency throughout the supply chain while ensuring quality and safety; implement subsequent changes to processes.
- Participate on various project teams providing information and guidance on availability and cost of supplies and materials as well as to ensure timely and orderly material and production flow.
- Bachelor's degree with 5-7 years of Purchasing experience including at least 3 years of supervisory experience.
- Excellent communication skills including interpersonal and negotiation skills.
- Proven ability to create and maintain positive working relationships with vendors, suppliers, shippers, and customers.
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite.
- Supplier Contract negotiations.
- Supplier Dashboard creation.
- Inventory management.
- Low-cost country purchasing.
- Supplier optimization.
- Supplier quality.
- Frequently required to use hands and fingers to handle, feel or operate office equipment, and reach with hands and arms.
- Frequently required to talk and hear.
- Required to occasionally stand and walk.
- Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
- Occasionally required to lift, push, pull and/or move up to 15 lbs.
- Specific vision abilities required include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
- Safety glasses are always required on the production floor.
- Hearing protection is required in designated areas.
