About the Job

We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Registered Nurse to provide exceptional patient care in our maternity department. This is an excellent opportunity for a professional nurse to work with a talented team of healthcare providers, delivering high-quality patient-centered care.

Job Summary

The successful candidate will be responsible for assessing, planning, implementing, and evaluating the care of patients in all areas of the maternity department, including labor and delivery and post-partum. This role requires strong communication and interpersonal skills, as well as the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

  • Assess patients' physical and emotional needs, developing individualized plans of care to ensure optimal outcomes.
  • Participate in interdisciplinary planning, working collaboratively with other healthcare professionals to deliver comprehensive care.
  • Provide education to patients and their families, promoting informed decision-making and empowering them to manage their health effectively.
  • Supervise nursing assistants and orientees, ensuring that they receive the support and guidance needed to provide high-quality care.
  • Maintain accurate and complete records, adhering to hospital policies and procedures.

Qualifications

  • Graduate of an accredited school of nursing (Associate diploma or B.S.N.).
  • Minimum 6 months to one year of medical-surgical hospital experience required; previous OB experience preferred.
  • N.A./Current NYS Registered Nurse.
  • BLS, ACLS, NRP, EFM Training required within 6 months of employment.
  • Certification in inpatient obstetrics and EFM certification preferred.

Salary Range

$65,000 - $90,000 per year, depending on experience.
