The role of Software Engineer II at EPB offers an exciting opportunity to contribute to the integration of core software systems, enhancing both external and internal customer experiences. This position operates at a corporate level.

Duties & Responsibilities

  • ">
  • Collaborate with the development team to architect, design, develop, and maintain middleware software that powers EPB's customer-facing and internal applications and websites.">
  • Write high-quality, efficient, and readable code to address problems of low to medium complexity.">
  • Participate actively in department scrum meetings and contribute significantly to team discussions.">
  • Serve as a reliable team member who works efficiently without requiring daily guidance.">
  • Perform basic root cause analysis (RCA) when provided with guidance and regularly conduct thorough investigations before seeking assistance.">
  • Contribute to the development and documentation of supporting knowledge architecture and standards.">
  • Provide after-hours support as needed to sustain systems, software, and customer-impacting internal tools– 24/7/365.">

  2. Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related field is preferred, or an equivalent combination of related training and experience.">
  3. 2-3 years of relevant experience.">
  4. Experience with databases and SQL.">
  5. Ability to communicate technical concepts to non-technical audiences.">

    2. Possess and maintain a valid driver's license in the state of residence and demonstrate safe and responsible operation of motor vehicles.">
    3. Familiarity with Wildfly or other Enterprise Java containers is preferred.">
    4. Knowledge of developing REST and Soap based web services for a Java Enterprise container is preferred.">
    5. Experience documenting components of the software development life cycle (designs, testing plans, etc.) is preferred.">

The estimated salary for this position is $85,000 - $110,000 per year, depending on location and experience.
