Job Summary:

Big Sandy Health Care is seeking a skilled Certified Nurse Midwife to join our team. As a key member of our healthcare team, you will provide high-quality, patient-centered care to women and families in our community.

Responsibilities:

Administer direct nurse-midwifery services, including prenatal, intrapartum, and gynecological care.
Provide primary care to patients, identifying their physical, social, and emotional health needs through systematic assessment and evaluation.
Educate and counsel women and families on health, prevention, and disease management.
Participate in staff development programs, including orientation, in-service, and continuing education.
Maintain accurate records and reports according to agency standards.
Prescribe and dispense nonscheduled legend drugs as described in a written practice agreement with a BSHC licensed physician.
Make appropriate referrals and provide continuity of care for clients receiving service from multiple agencies.

Requirements:

Master's degree in nursing with clinical specialty area in nursing practice from an accredited program and one year of work experience as a registered nurse.
Completion of a program accredited by the American College of Nurse-Midwives Division of Accreditation.
Current license to practice as a Certified Nurse-Midwife in Kentucky or Temporary Authorization to practice under the Kentucky Board of Nursing protocol.
Certified by the American College of Nurse-Midwives.
Knowledge of nurse-midwifery theory, procedure, and standards, as well as trends and literature in gynecological and maternity care.
Ability to develop and implement plans of care, provide skilled nurse-midwifery services, and interpret medical records and reports.
