Head Basketball Coach

The Syracuse City School District is seeking a dedicated and experienced Head Modified Basketball Coach to lead our modified basketball team at Huntington. As a key member of our athletic coaching staff, you will be responsible for developing and implementing a comprehensive coaching plan that promotes skill development, teamwork, and sportsmanship among our student athletes.
Responsibilities:- Develop and implement a coaching plan that aligns with the district's athletic program goals and objectives
- Recruit, select, and manage a team of student athletes
- Design and implement practice sessions and game strategies to promote skill development and teamwork
- Ensure a safe and positive learning environment for all student athletes
- Communicate effectively with parents, students, and colleagues to promote a positive and supportive team culture
- New York State Coaching Certification
- Valid First Aid and Adult CPR certification
- Child Abuse Identification and School Violence Intervention and Prevention workshops
- Dignity For All Students Act (DASA) certification
- Fingerprint clearance
- Previous coaching experience (preferred)
The salary for this position will be based on the district's salary schedule, with prorated pay for the length of the season. The district also offers a comprehensive benefits package, including health insurance, retirement plans, and paid time off.
