About the Job

We are seeking a skilled and dedicated Front Office Nurse to join our team at Family Allergy & Asthma. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing exceptional patient care in our injection room and front office setting.

Key Responsibilities
  • Prepare the injection room area each morning to ensure a clean and organized environment for patients.
  • Administer allergy injections with precision and care, ensuring the highest level of patient safety.
  • Restock supplies and order new materials as needed to maintain a smooth clinical workflow.
  • Complete daily logs and reconcile charges to ensure accurate financial records.
  • Collect co-pays and provide patient receipts, promoting transparency and trust.
  • Re-order vials and maintain refrigerated storage to ensure optimal freshness and potency.
  • Monitor shot cards and discard expired vials to prevent any potential risks.
  • Ensure consent forms are signed and explain shot room policies to new patients to promote understanding and compliance.
  • Provide education on first injection policies to new patients, fostering a positive and informed experience.
  • Maintain HIPAA policies and procedures to safeguard patient confidentiality and security.
  • Stay on premises for 30 minutes after the last injection to address any patient concerns or questions.
  • Clean and maintain the toy and lobby areas to create a welcoming environment for patients and staff.
  • Stay up-to-date on all medications and treatment protocols to provide the best possible care.
  • Effectively manage emergency procedures and protocols to ensure patient safety.
  • Check emergency medications monthly and re-order as needed to maintain adequate supplies.
  • Perform and complete triage tasks as needed to prioritize patient care.
  • Cross-train and support other Clinic roles as needed to promote a cohesive and collaborative team environment.
  • Participate in regular closing procedures to ensure a smooth transition to the next shift.
  • Assist with front office duties, including checking patients in and out, collecting co-pays, scheduling appointments, answering phones, and completing end-of-day clinic charge reports.

Requirements

  • Education, Prior Work Experience, and Special Skills
  • Diploma in Nursing (LPN/RN) with an active and unrestricted IN Nursing License or an eNLC multistate nursing license.
  • At least 6 months of experience in a medical office setting.
  • Previous allergy/asthma experience is preferred.
  • CPR certification is required.
  • A valid driver's license is necessary for travel to satellite offices.
  • Acceptable results on Office of Inspector General, State Medicaid Exclusions, Abuse Registry Checks, Background Screenings, Drug Screen, and Sanction Checks.
  • Ability to work with patients directly and pleasantly.
  • Strong computer skills and experience with EMR systems.

Work Environment

  • The physical demands of this job include standing, walking, stooping, kneeling, crouching, reaching, pushing, pulling, bending, and sitting.
  • Occasional lifting and/or moving up to 30 pounds may be required.
  • Specific vision abilities required include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills are essential to work collaboratively with all levels of staff and patients.
