Regional Planning Specialist for Eastern Kentucky

We are seeking a highly skilled Regional Planning Specialist to join our team at the Gateway Area Development District in Morehead, KY. As a key member of our team, you will play a critical role in promoting economic and social development in east-central Kentucky.
Job OverviewThis is a full-time position with an estimated annual salary of $40,500. The successful candidate will have excellent analytical, communication, and project management skills, with a strong background in geographic information systems (GIS) and regional planning.
Key Responsibilities- GIS Coordination: Coordinate spatial data management and analysis for various planning initiatives, including creating, editing, and submitting GIS data for local and state projects.
- GIS Program Development: Identify, initiate, and implement special GIS services and products to meet planning needs, working collaboratively with local governments, utilities, and stakeholders.
- Data Management: Collect, enter, and manage water and wastewater system data in the WRIS Portal, as well as transportation asset data for the Kentucky Transportation Cabinet's Regional Transportation Annual Work Program.
To be considered for this exciting opportunity, applicants must possess a Bachelor's degree or higher in a related field, such as government, history, geography, or public administration. A valid driver's license and CDBG Project Administrator Certification are also required. Preferred qualifications include experience in water, wastewater, and/or transportation infrastructure, strategic planning, or project management.
