Job Overview:


We are seeking an experienced Medical Secretary to join our team at the Walter Reuther Psychiatric Hospital. As a key member of our administrative support staff, you will provide advanced secretarial assistance to our Nurse Director and other senior management personnel.


About the Role:


This is a permanent full-time position that offers a competitive salary of $23.78-$31.26 per hour, depending on experience. The successful candidate will have a strong background in office administration, including experience with confidential secretarial duties, policy interpretation, and research.


Key Responsibilities:



  • Providing advanced secretarial support to the Nurse Director and other senior management personnel
  • Interpreting policies and procedures, and providing guidance to staff as needed
  • Researching and preparing materials for managerial decisions
  • Maintaining confidentiality and handling sensitive information with discretion
  • Performing tasks such as typing memos, letters, policies/procedures, creating forms, filing, answering phones, distributing mail, compiling and entering payroll, and maintaining supplies for department and patient units

Requirements:



  • Degree equivalent to completion of high school
  • Four years of office experience involving administrative support practices, including one year equivalent to advanced 8-level administrative support work, or equivalent to a Secretary E8, or Legal Secretary E8
  • OR four years of office experience involving administrative support practices, including two years equivalent to experienced E7-level administrative support work, or equivalent to a Secretary 7, or Legal Secretary 7
