Technical Project Director

We are seeking an experienced Technical Project Director to lead complex infrastructure projects focused on enhancing community resilience. As a seasoned professional in construction project management, you will oversee all aspects of the project, including budget oversight, personnel coordination, and ensuring adherence to contract specifications.
Your expertise will be instrumental in delivering exceptional quality and maintaining strong relationships with stakeholders. You will collaborate with industry experts to drive success and manage multiple departments and direct reports to retain focus on one project completion goal and timeline.
You will also identify growth opportunities for project personnel and develop them to coach and mentor team members. Your ability to analyze and interpret financial documentation to identify and mitigate project risk will be invaluable in this role.
A successful candidate will have a strong background in water/wastewater treatment plant construction project experience, with 15+ years' experience in construction project management and 10+ years' experience in managing personnel. A Bachelor's Degree in Engineering or a related field is highly desirable.
The ideal candidate will possess excellent interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage and retain positive working relationships. Strong delegation skills and the ability to efficiently and effectively manage multiple departments and direct reports are essential.

Estimated Salary: $235,000 - $250,000 per year
Key Responsibilities
- Manage all aspects of the project, from construction to budget and cash management
- Develop and manage the project schedule, pay estimates, procedures, staffing needs, and equipment resources
- Review initial project contracts and supporting documents for completeness
- Collaborate with the owner to resolve any specification, contract conflicts, and scheduling issues
- Lead engineering and scheduling teams to identify and negotiate proposed change orders
- Prepare and present monthly cost and revenue forecasts and reports to leadership
- Maintain strong working relationships with Flatiron supporting departments and the project owner
- Serve as the main point of contact for all third-party stakeholders
- Ensure project safety by conducting weekly safety checks and participating in safety meetings
- Approve staffing and equipment needs to ensure efficient and effective project production
- Participate in the dispute resolution process with support from internal legal counsel
