Nurse Labor and Delivery Specialist

Job OverviewThis is a 13-week contract position with a 36-hour workweek, working 12-hour shifts. As a Labor and Delivery Specialist, you will be responsible for assessing and monitoring the health of pregnant women, collaborating with obstetricians and other healthcare professionals to provide individualized care, and supporting patients through labor and delivery.
Key Responsibilities- Labor Support and Monitoring: Monitor the progress of labor, administer medications as prescribed, and provide emotional support and pain management throughout the labor process.
- Assisting with Delivery: Assist obstetricians or midwives during vaginal deliveries, participate in cesarean section procedures, and perform neonatal resuscitation and initial assessment of the newborn's health.
- Postpartum Care: Monitor the health and recovery of both the mother and the newborn, assist with breastfeeding support, and provide education on postpartum recovery and self-care.
To be successful in this role, you will need:
- A current RN license and experience in Labor and Delivery.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- The ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
