Program Manager Overview

Key Responsibilities

  • Supervise a team of Substance Abuse Counselors, Social Workers, and peer advocates to ensure the delivery of high-quality clinical services.
  • Develop and implement policies and procedures to ensure compliance with OASAS, Joint Commission, and Department of Health standards.
  • Coordinate the intake process and ensure that all patients receive timely and effective treatment.
  • Lead the program's interdisciplinary team meetings and coordinate care with the program's psychiatrist, psychologist, and other staff.
  • Develop and oversee the program's clinical offerings, including individual and group therapy sessions.
  • Complete evaluations of supervised staff and provide clinical in-service trainings and individual/group supervision.
  • Manage incidents among patients and staff, ensuring that incidents are managed using de-escalation and conflict resolution strategies.
  • Ensure patient rights are maintained and participate in fair hearings when required.
  • Facilitate regularly scheduled interdisciplinary team meetings in compliance with program regulations.
  • Participate in interviewing, hiring, and orienting of new staff.
  • Maintain and supervise required reporting to program leadership and regulatory agencies.

Qualifications

  • Master's Degree in Social Work, Psychology, Mental Health Counseling, or related field required.
  • Training in assessment and treatment of substance use disorders required.
  • License in Social Work (LMSW or LCSW), Mental Health Counseling (LMHC), Clinical Psychology, or other clinical field required.
  • Knowledge of substance use and psychiatric risk assessment required.
  • Clinical assessment, diagnosis, and treatment of substance use and psychiatric disorders required.
  • Knowledge of OASAS and Joint Commission standards relating to the treatment of substance use required.
  • Must have knowledge of adults across the lifespan for patient-centered assessments and interventions.
  • Working knowledge of Excel and electronic medical record systems required.
  • Effective interpersonal skills, ability to work well independently, ability to communicate effectively orally and in writing required.

The Program Manager will work in a fast-paced outpatient substance use treatment program, providing leadership and management support to a team of professionals. The ideal candidate will be able to work effectively in a dynamic environment, prioritize tasks, and manage multiple responsibilities simultaneously.
