Program Manager Overview
Montefiore Medical Center's Wakefield Recovery Center is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Program Manager to oversee the clinical and administrative operations of its outpatient substance use treatment program. Key Responsibilities
- Supervise a team of Substance Abuse Counselors, Social Workers, and peer advocates to ensure the delivery of high-quality clinical services.
- Develop and implement policies and procedures to ensure compliance with OASAS, Joint Commission, and Department of Health standards.
- Coordinate the intake process and ensure that all patients receive timely and effective treatment.
- Lead the program's interdisciplinary team meetings and coordinate care with the program's psychiatrist, psychologist, and other staff.
- Develop and oversee the program's clinical offerings, including individual and group therapy sessions.
- Complete evaluations of supervised staff and provide clinical in-service trainings and individual/group supervision.
- Manage incidents among patients and staff, ensuring that incidents are managed using de-escalation and conflict resolution strategies.
- Ensure patient rights are maintained and participate in fair hearings when required.
- Facilitate regularly scheduled interdisciplinary team meetings in compliance with program regulations.
- Participate in interviewing, hiring, and orienting of new staff.
- Maintain and supervise required reporting to program leadership and regulatory agencies.
Qualifications
- Master's Degree in Social Work, Psychology, Mental Health Counseling, or related field required.
- Training in assessment and treatment of substance use disorders required.
- License in Social Work (LMSW or LCSW), Mental Health Counseling (LMHC), Clinical Psychology, or other clinical field required.
- Knowledge of substance use and psychiatric risk assessment required.
- Clinical assessment, diagnosis, and treatment of substance use and psychiatric disorders required.
- Knowledge of OASAS and Joint Commission standards relating to the treatment of substance use required.
- Must have knowledge of adults across the lifespan for patient-centered assessments and interventions.
- Working knowledge of Excel and electronic medical record systems required.
- Effective interpersonal skills, ability to work well independently, ability to communicate effectively orally and in writing required.
Work Environment
The Program Manager will work in a fast-paced outpatient substance use treatment program, providing leadership and management support to a team of professionals. The ideal candidate will be able to work effectively in a dynamic environment, prioritize tasks, and manage multiple responsibilities simultaneously.
