Compensation
The estimated annual salary range for this role is $209,000 - $287,000, based on geographic location, relevant education, qualifications, experience, skills, performance, and business needs.

Job Summary
We seek a seasoned claims professional to drive optimum claims outcomes, manage staff, and deliver superior customer service as the Vice President, General Liabilities Claims leader. The ideal candidate will possess 10+ years of claims experience in the Property & Casualty Industry and 7+ years of claims management experience. A multi-jurisdictional understanding of legal issues, ability to lead a team of complex claims specialists, and strong analytical skills are also essential.

Key Responsibilities
- Plans, controls, and coordinates claims activity and workflow to maintain high professional customer service and technical standards.
- Identifies training needs and partners with claims training resources to ensure high-quality training and education programs.
- Prepares operating budget and monitors and controls expenses.
- Recommends claims procedural changes and plans, organizes, and implements these changes in accordance with company guidelines.
- Maintains override capability, authorizes settlements, and submits recommendations to designated officials.
- Oversees combined loss ratio and productivity numbers and ensures they comply with company standards.
- Oversees and controls allocated claims expenses.
- Provides performance management activities for personnel measured against business objectives and claims activity.
- Plans reviews and conducts claims reviews and settlement conferences.
- Coaches, mentors, and supports continual professional development of staff.

Qualifications and Requirements
- 10+ years claims experience in the Property & Casualty Industry.
- 7+ years claims management experience.
- Multi-jurisdictional understanding of legal issues.
- Ability to lead a team of complex claims specialists and manage staff.
- Ability to analyze reports and trend analysis to identify issues.
- Experience in complex coverage analysis and significant large loss evaluations, loss allocations.
- Superior communication, strategic thinking, and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent presentation skills, customer service, organizational, and interpersonal skills.
- Demonstrated financial acumen (budgeting, cost/benefit analysis, ROI, etc.).
- Strong knowledge of claims business processes, procedures, and workflows required.
- Demonstrated ability to manage and develop staff.
- College or legal degree preferred.
