Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Medical Assistant II to join our team at the Houston Journal of Health Law & Policy. As a Medical Assistant II, you will provide administrative and clinical support to patients, ensuring a seamless experience from check-in to check-out.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide front desk operations, patient scheduling, and check-in/check-out services
  • Assist physicians, nurse practitioners, and licensed nurses with emergency and non-emergency clinical procedures
  • Obtain vital signs, report patient conditions, and perform other clerical duties as assigned
  • Perform EKGs, office procedures, and other delegated tasks
  • Monitor health equipment, maintain inventory, and restock as needed
  • Communicate with nurses and providers regarding patient concerns, emergencies, or follow-ups
  • Administer immunizations, transmit patient EMRs, and follow up with patients regarding treatment plans or referrals
Requirements
  • 18 months to 3 years of experience in a medical setting
  • Vocational competence in operating mechanical or electronic equipment
  • Minimum of 3 years of directly job-related experience
  • Preferred qualifications: certification, BLS certification, and education in lieu of experience
