Job Description

The Product Safety Certification Specialist plays a critical role in ensuring the integrity of our global certification programs. This position requires a high degree of knowledge, training, and experience in certification and testing, as well as a strong understanding of HVAC standards and procedures.



Key Responsibilities

As a Product Safety Certification Specialist, you will be responsible for:



  • Independently managing certification projects, ensuring compliance with all applicable safety requirements and achieving completion within allotted time frames.
  • Evaluating products against national and international standards, making technical decisions based on knowledge, training, and experience.
  • Effectively managing project costs within agreed budgets and maintaining productivity in line with company expectations.
  • Demonstrating technical competence to review the work of others, perform testing, and witness testing.
  • Authorizing the application of the CSA Mark, preparing and signing Certification Reports and Certificates of Compliance.
  • Providing client assistance in solving problems and failures without divulging proprietary information.
  • Keeping management informed of project status, pointing out major problems and non-compliance.
  • Evaluating and qualifying companies in the administration of Certification Programs, reviewing customer test methods and systems, and authorizing the application and removal of the CSA Mark.
  • Providing technical information services to external and internal customers, liaising with customers in the design stage to ensure requirements are met without compromising confidentiality.
  • Working with sales to support current clients and develop new client opportunities to support growth.
  • Classifying products by use, environment, and function, determining applicable requirements, test standards, and sample requirements.
  • Performing within established quality guidelines and preparing Test Lab Work Orders and Special Testing Documentation.


Preferred Qualifications

To be successful in this role, you will need:



  • A Bachelor's Degree in Engineering or Engineering Technology with 3-10 years of job-related experience.
  • Broad knowledge of CSA and UL Standards in the HVAC area.
  • Specific knowledge of and experience with UL 60335-2-40 Fourth Edition.
  • Knowledge of a variety of testing procedures and the ability to confidently and clearly communicate technical decisions to others.
  • Test engineering experience and knowledge of CSA programs and services.


Estimated Salary Range

$80,000 - $120,000 per year, depending on experience and qualifications.



Location

This position is based in the Dallas, TX area and will operate mainly as a remote employee.
