**Job Summary:**

The Martha O'Bryan Center seeks a qualified Early Learning Center Assistant Teacher to join our team. As an Assistant Teacher, you will play a vital role in creating a high-quality early learning environment that fosters children's development and provides support to their families.

**Key Responsibilities:**

  • Ensure compliance with DHS Child Care Licensing standards and National Association for the Education of Young Children code of ethical conduct and accreditation standards.
  • Maintain a safe, healthy, independent learning environment.
  • Implement positive discipline techniques to promote self-discipline.
  • Keep the director informed of problems/concerns/needs concerning children, parents, and general classroom operation.
  • Pursue professional development activities, completing at least 18 hours per licensing year.
  • Participate in staff meetings and functions, contributing to the team effort.
  • Act as Lead Teacher when absent.

**Requirements:**

To be successful in this role, you should have:

  • An Associate's degree in Education or Child Development, or be enrolled in such a program, or hold Child Development Associate (CDA) credentials.
  • At least two years of Early Childhood experience.
  • Experience working with young children and families, particularly those living in poverty.

**Preferred Qualities:**

  • A passion for working with young children.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, sometimes noisy environment.
  • Strong interpersonal and customer service skills.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Maintaining confidentiality and building positive relationships with internal and external constituents.

**Working Conditions:**

  • Four-day workweek, 6:45 am-5:45 pm.

**Estimated Salary:** $40,000 - $50,000 annually, depending on qualifications and experience. The Martha O'Bryan Center is an equal opportunity employer.
