Global Materials Director

Job Summary

We are seeking a highly experienced and skilled Global Materials Director to lead our Materials organization across 24 plants in the USA, Mexico, Thailand, UAE, and India. This is a critical role that requires a strong leader with expertise in end-to-end material flow, supply chain management, and talent development.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead the Materials organization to achieve short-term KPI performance and develop and implement 3-5 year Hoshin Kanri plans.
  • Develop and implement strategies to improve material flow, inventory management, and production scheduling.
  • Partner with Commercial Leaders and Demand Planners to understand demand and support plants in defining capacity through Supply Planning.
  • Drive initiatives to improve On-Time Delivery to 100% across all plants.
  • Guide and develop the Materials team across Air Distribution in all fundamentals of Materials management.
  • Be present in the plants, support the team in problem-solving, and drive inventory reduction targets through process implementation and inventory control.
  • Support the BOM Project implementation throughout Air Distribution and drive the Clear to Build escalation process.
  • Collaborate with Procurement and Quality in scoring and driving supplier performance.
  • Develop and implement the Hoshin Kanri plan for the Materials Organization.
Requirements
  • University degree or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • 10+ years of experience in Materials management, with a minimum of 7 years leading Materials to a large footprint of 7+ plants.
  • Proven growth track through all or most of Materials base functions and able to teach and coach tactically the team on execution and implementation.
  • Preferred experience with built-to-order processes in high-mix-low-volume and high-mix-high-volume environments.
  • Clear understanding of material conveyance, material presentation, and PFEP processes.
  • Experience in leading S&OP processes and Demand Planning is desirable.
  • Data-driven approach with excellent problem-solving skills.
  • Proficient with AS400 ERP systems and Excel and Power BI.
  • Fluent in English, with Spanish desirable.
