Diesel Technician

The Diesel Mechanic-Electrician is responsible for performing maintenance and electrical tasks on heavy and light-duty equipment used in coal mining operations.

• Collaborate with the Maintenance Manager, Maintenance Planner, and Shop Foreman to execute maintenance and electrical tasks.
• Troubleshoot low-voltage systems, replace faulty components, and conduct preventative maintenance on equipment.
• Adhere to all company safety protocols and regulatory requirements.
• Interpret and work from maintenance manuals, parts catalogs, and electrical schematics.

• A minimum of 2 years of experience in maintenance and electrical work within mining operations.
• MSHA Electrical Certification and knowledge of MSHA diesel regulatory requirements.
• Flexibility to work various shifts as dictated by operational needs.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills, both written and oral.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel and Word.

• Regularly required to reach, handle, and operate objects, tools, or controls using hands, arms, legs, and feet.
• Must be able to stand, walk, sit, climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl, and climb ladders or steps.
• Ability to lift and move up to 50 pounds for short distances.
• Effective verbal communication and hearing abilities are required.
• Must possess strong visual abilities, including close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
