Job Overview
SightMD, a rapidly growing integrated ophthalmic provider group, is seeking an experienced Ophthalmic Technician to join our team. As a Senior Ophthalmic Technician, you will play a vital role in assisting our physicians and providing exceptional patient care.

Salary Information
The estimated salary for this position is $27.50 per hour. With over 127 eye care providers and 60 locations across New York, New Jersey, Pennsylvania, and Connecticut, SightMD offers competitive compensation packages and benefits.

Key Responsibilities
As a Senior Ophthalmic Technician, your duties will include:
  1. Meeting and greeting patients with a friendly and professional demeanor.
  2. Assisting the physician with patient care and minor procedures.
  3. Performing vision and ocular tests, explaining procedures to patients.
  4. Documenting exam details and physician findings in the electronic chart.
  5. Ensuring patient understanding of all instructions.
  6. Precepting and training fellow technicians.
  7. Maintaining treatment rooms and ophthalmic instruments.
  8. Reporting equipment malfunctions.
  9. Performing ancillary testing and documenting results.
  10. Administering medications according to compliance standards.
  11. Maintaining inventory and assisting with equipment upkeep.

Requirements
To be successful in this role, you must have:
  • A high school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Excellent written, verbal, and listening skills.
  • Strong interpersonal, time management, and organizational skills.
  • Strong customer service skills.
  • Ability to work a flexible schedule, including weekends.
  • Ability to stand for long periods of time.
  • A minimum of one year of experience as an Ophthalmic Technician or one year of specialized ophthalmic experience.
