Clinical Nursing Assistant

The Clinical Nursing Assistant plays a vital role in delivering patient care in a hospital setting, working under the direction of a Registered Nurse. This position requires a strong commitment to providing exceptional care and support to patients and their families.
Key Responsibilities- Assist physicians and other healthcare providers with routine examinations and procedures, as well as procurement of equipment and supplies during emergency situations.
- Observe, collect, and document patient information obtained while providing care and promptly report significant changes in the patient's condition to a registered nurse or physician.
- Assist patients and their families during admission to the clinical area, orientation to the hospital/clinic/home health experience, and discharge.
- Provide care/treatments to patients as outlined in plan of care, including monitoring of vital signs, measurement of height and weight, specimen collection, skin preps/scrubs, catheter care, capillary blood glucose checks, simple wound care, range-of-motion exercises, and drain care.
- Assist patients with routine activities of daily living (ADL) such as bathing, dressing, feeding, and assisting with ambulation as outlined in plan of care.
- Maintain an effective clinical work environment, including cleaning the work area, changing linens, maintaining and monitoring supply levels, and transporting patients/specimens throughout the hospital.
- Must have nursing assistant certification, such as Nurse Aide I registration as administered by the North Carolina Board of Nursing (NCBON) or equivalent.
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
