Communication Specialist

About the Role
Evaluate and treat individuals with speech, language, oral, and pharyngeal function disorders.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and implement therapy interventions tailored to each patient's needs.
- Provide education and counseling to patients and their families regarding treatment plans.
- Maintain accurate clinical records and participate in performance improvement initiatives.
- Assist with patient discharge from speech therapy services and recommend support programs.
- Work safely and maintain a state of alertness at all times.
- Perform other duties as assigned by management.
Requirements
- Master's degree in Speech-Language Pathology or related field.
- No prior experience required, but certification is an asset.
Physical Demands
- Frequent lifting, carrying, pushing, and pulling objects weighing 0-25 lbs.
- Frequent sitting, standing, walking, reaching, and repetitive movements.
- Frequent use of vision, depth perception, and hearing for distances near and far.
- Frequent keyboard use for data entry.
- Occasional bending, stooping, kneeling, squatting, twisting, and gripping.
- Occasional lifting and carrying objects weighing 25-50 lbs.
- Rare climbing.
Licenses and Certifications
- BLS HCP certification within 90 days of employment.
- State-specific licenses: Illinois Department of Financial and Professional Regulation (IDFPR), Missouri Division of Professional Registration, Oklahoma Board of Examiners for Speech-Language Pathology & Audiology, Wisconsin Department of Safety and Professional Services.
