Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced House Supervisor to join our team at Universal Health Services. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing a mental health or chemical dependency based program of nursing and other clinical services on a unit. This is a challenging and rewarding role that requires strong leadership skills and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Ensure all staff members deliver care in accordance with Standards of Care and Practice.
  2. Implement unit policies and procedures and act as a resource to the staff.
  3. Responsible for unit compliance with Joint Commission, TRICARE, HCFA, state and Federal regulatory standards.
  4. Responsible for unit compliance with the Patient Rights standards.
  5. Evaluate program effectiveness and formulate plans for improvement.
  6. Assist in developing staffing schedules in accordance with patient needs and facility census.
  7. Coordinate the process for determining and maintaining accurate legal processes for patients.
  8. Ensure Infection Control and Safety and Risk Management policies are consistently implemented on the unit.
  9. Coordinate, maintain and evaluate the effectiveness of treatment planning offered by nursing services.
  10. Report all critical incidents to the Administrator on Call (AOC), Risk Manager, Chief Executive Officer (CEO), Chief Nursing Officer (CNO) and communicate incident to oncoming supervisor; conduct investigations and implement corrective action plans when needed.
  11. Participate in peer review committee and quality improvement activities and is responsible for the effectiveness of the unit quality improvement program.
  12. Monitor medical records for appropriate documentation of care and effectiveness.
  13. Collaborate with case management to ensure patients receive timely and quality care.

Requirements:

  • Registered Nurse (RN) with a minimum of three years clinical experience and/or managerial, supervisory or leadership experience required or a combination of both.
  • Active and unrestricted Ohio Registered Nurse (RN) license or LPN.
  • Trained in Non-violent crisis intervention training and CPR prior to accepting independent assignment or released from orientation.
  • Preferred one year of experience working in a psychiatric inpatient setting with teenage and adult patient populations.
