Technologist I, Histocompatibility Laboratory Services Specialist

Job Description:
As a member of the American Red Cross team, you will have the opportunity to make a meaningful impact in the lives of others. We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated individual to fill the role of Technologist I, Histocompatibility Laboratory Services.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform high complexity testing on donor and patient samples, resolving compatibility problems and providing basic reference and consultation services to hospitals and transfusion services.
- Adhere to explicit standard operating procedures and interpret test results in accordance with applicable regulatory requirements.
- Provide support, development, and/or technical resource to internal or external customers, including performing on-call duties as required.
- Maintain state or board certification, if applicable, and attend continuing education programs to stay up-to-date with the latest developments in the field.
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Biological Science or Chemistry required; Medical Laboratory Scientist (MLS), Medical Technologist (MT), Clinical Laboratory Scientist (CLS) or equivalent certification preferred.
- 1 year of commercial/clinical laboratory, blood banking, HLA or molecular laboratory experience or equivalent combination of education and related experience preferred.
