Job Overview

At UPMC - Pittsburgh Medical Center, we are seeking a highly skilled Pharmacy Technician to join our team in the inpatient pharmacy at our main hospital location in Lawrenceville. As a Pharmacy Technician, you will play a vital role in providing pharmaceutical care to patients within the UPMC Health System.

Responsibilities
  • Assist with the preparation and distribution of medications, including correct labeling, counting, and stocking practices.
  • Prepare oral and injectable medications for administration, using proper technique and adhering to regulatory requirements.
  • Contribute to the development and maintenance of positive and productive service relationships during medication distribution.

You will work closely with our staff pharmacists to provide accurate and timely information to hospital personnel, patients, and visitors. Your attention to detail and organizational skills will be essential in maintaining a clean, organized, and adequately stocked work environment.

Requirements
  • A high school diploma or equivalent is required; completion of an accredited pharmacy technician program, six months of previous pharmacy technician experience, or enrollment in a college program and in good standing are also acceptable alternatives.
  • A valid Act 31 Child Abuse Reporting certification, Act 33 clearance, Act 34 clearance, and Act 73 FBI Clearance are mandatory.
