About the Role

MedStar Health is seeking a highly skilled Exercise Physiologist to join our team at MedStar Montgomery Medical Center. As a key member of our Cardiopulmonary Rehab Program, you will play a vital role in helping patients achieve their health and wellness goals.

Key Responsibilities
  • Program Development and Implementation
    • Develop and implement individualized exercise plans for patients with cardiac and pulmonary conditions.
    • Conduct thorough assessments of patients' medical history, current physical status, and baseline functional capacity.
    • Collaborate with healthcare teams to ensure seamless care coordination and patient outcomes.
  • Patient Education and Support
    • Provide comprehensive education and guidance to patients and their families on disease management, prevention, and health maintenance.
    • Develop and lead group classes and workshops on cardiac and pulmonary health.
    • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to establish plans of care and continuum of care.
  • Quality Improvement and Professional Development
    • Participate in ongoing quality improvement initiatives to enhance program effectiveness and patient satisfaction.
    • Stay current with industry developments and best practices through ongoing education and training.
    • Contribute to the development of new ideas and suggestions for program improvements.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Exercise Science or related field.
  • Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification.
  • Master's degree preferred.
  • 3-4 years of clinical exercise physiology experience preferred.
  • ACSM Exercise Specialist or Registered Clinical Exercise Physiologist (RCEP) certification preferred.
