Salary: $65,000 - $85,000 per year

This salary range reflects the estimated compensation for this role based on national averages and industry standards. The actual salary may vary based on factors such as location, experience, and performance.

Job Description:
As a Corporate Payroll and Accounting Specialist, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the accuracy and timely processing of payroll. You will work closely with our accounting department and report directly to the Controller.

  • Prepare and process payroll to ensure accurate, timely processing of payroll in compliance with company policies and procedures and with federal, state, and local tax regulations.
  • Ensure accurate and timely processing of payroll updates, including new hires, terminations, and changes to pay rates.
  • Perform audits prior to payroll transmission and resolve discrepancies found in reconciliations.
  • Prepare payroll-related journal entries and reconciliations. Document and update the payroll procedures.
  • Ad-hoc requests related to payroll reporting from accounting, sales, HR, and other functional groups.
  • Manage daily reconciliations of large data sets and loss of transactions.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

  • 5+ years practical payroll work experience required. Solid understanding of all federal/state wage and hour laws related to payroll, including garnishments, benefits, leave of absence, 401k, FSA, and taxes.
  • Extensive knowledge of daily reconciliations and loss of transactions.
  • Ability to prioritize, multitask, and meet deadlines.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills to research and resolve inquiries and respond in a timely manner.
  • Strong people skills and the ability to discreetly handle confidential information.
  • Excellent customer service and communication skills, both written and verbal.
