Job Description:

The Registered Nurse will be responsible for providing high-quality patient care, including assessing patients' medical needs, developing and implementing care plans, and collaborating with other healthcare professionals to ensure seamless delivery of services.

In this role, you will have the opportunity to work with a diverse population of clients, including those with mental health and substance abuse issues. You will also have the chance to develop your skills in areas such as case management, counseling, and education.

Requirements:
  1. Minimum Bachelor's Degree in a healthcare field or completed a nursing program approved by the Georgia Board of Nursing.
  2. Current Georgia Licensure by the Georgia Board of Nursing.
  3. Certification at CACII, CAC-II, and/or CADC-II level is a plus to provide substance counseling.
  4. First Aid/CPR Certified.
  5. Minimum of 1-year experience working with clientele suffering from MH/SA issues and their families a plus.
  6. Maintain documentation of completing 20 contact hours every 2 years from the Georgia Nursing Board for approved continuing education courses.
Duties and Responsibilities:
  1. Provide nutritional assessments and perform nursing assessments and examine patients' medical history.
  2. Take patients' vital signs, such as respiration, temperature, blood pressure, and heart rate.
  3. Educate and encourage patients to avoid unhealthy routines and understand documentation or paperwork.
  4. Keep health records updated along with TB tests and drug screens.
  5. Assist Nurse Practitioner and other superior nurses to develop best care plans for patients.
  6. Take verbal orders from MD (Doctor of Medicine) or other superior nurse(s).
  7. Provide basic care, such as dressing wounds, changing bandages, and giving injections.
  8. Talk to patients about their present problems, allergies, medications, and keep an eye on their medical records.
  9. Undertake various office responsibilities: answer calls, reply to messages, submit requested documents, execute triage within the scope of registered nursing practice in an accurate and precise way.
  10. Help coordinate patient referrals.
  11. Call pharmacies for ordering prescriptions if necessary.
  12. Assessing and monitoring patients' medical and other health issues that are either directly related to the mental health or substance-related disorder, or to the treatment of the disorder.
  13. Providing nursing assessments and interventions to observe, monitor, and care for physical, nutritional, behavioral health, and related psychosocial issues, problems, or crises manifested in the course of patients' treatment.
  14. Consulting with patients' family/caregiver about medical, nutritional, and other health issues related to individuals' mental health or substance-related issues.
  15. Venipuncture required to monitor and assess mental health, substance disorders, or directly related conditions, and to monitor side effects of psychotropic medications, as ordered by a Licensed Physician, Physician Assistant, or Advanced Practical Nurse.
  16. Providing assessment, testing, and referral for infectious diseases.
  17. Supervising LPNs and CNAs staff.

  4. Communicate effectively, clearly, and appropriately, and ensure client care and clinician concerns are known.
  5. Use excellent judgment.
  6. Prompt arrival to sessions/meetings is strongly encouraged.
