Neurosurgeon Assistant

We are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Neurosurgeon Assistant to join our dynamic team at UPMC Altoona. As a key member of our neurosurgery department, you will play a vital role in delivering high-quality patient care and contributing to the success of our team.

The estimated salary for this position is $120,000 - $180,000 per year, depending on experience. Responsibilities:

• Assist surgeons during operations and provide critical care to patients before, during, and after surgery.
• Conduct preoperative and postoperative exams, take medical histories, and order diagnostic tests as needed.
• Develop and implement treatment plans in collaboration with surgeons and other healthcare professionals.
• Maintain accurate and detailed patient records, ensuring confidentiality and compliance with regulatory requirements.
• Prioritize tasks efficiently, managing multiple responsibilities and adapting to changing circumstances.
• Stay up-to-date with the latest medical research, techniques, and technologies to enhance patient care and outcomes.

To be successful in this role, you will need:

• A Master's degree from an accredited Physician Assistant program.
• A minimum of 3 years' experience as a Physician Assistant in a surgical setting.
• National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants (NCCPA) certification.
• Current licensure in Pennsylvania.
• Act 33, Act 34, and Act 73 clearances.
