About the OpportunityAs a Nursing Faculty member at Community College System of New Hampshire, you will have the opportunity to educate students and develop curricula in the field of Nursing. This position reports to the Department Chairperson of the Nursing Department at Nashua Community College.
Responsibilities- Teach Nursing courses and other related courses as assigned.
- Demonstrate teaching effectiveness through the development of instructional materials that comply with established course content, integrate theory with applications, clearly define course goals, observe program and institutional accreditations standards, promote critical thinking and life skills, and respond to diverse academic needs.
- Maintain accessibility and availability to assist students with their learning needs and advise individuals or groups of students in academic matters and exercise professional judgment in referring students to appropriate personnel.
- Supervise student learning activities and academic progress and maintain accurate records of student progress and accomplishments. Consult with and interpret these to students and maintain accessibility and availability to assist students with their learning needs.
- Coordinate departmental activities and operations by developing credit and non-credit programs and/or courses, sharing teaching and learning methodologies with peers, serving as an academic resource, cultivating and maintaining collaborative relationships with business and industry within the field of Nursing, providing leadership in the development of articulation initiatives, maintaining educational equipment and spaces, and requisitioning instructional equipment, supplies or classroom materials.
- Assist in the planning, development, and implementation of college sponsored recruitment and retention activities including career and job fairs, student orientations, registrations, and award ceremonies, and/or advising student activity groups, as assigned.
- Engage in professional activities related to Nursing that partner the college with the wider community by serving on college or system teams, or participating in community-sponsored events, as assigned.
- Remain technologically and pedagogically current within the field of Nursing through participation in relevant professional associations and educational and training activities. Utilize appropriate instructional and administrative technologies as required for teaching effectiveness and college operations/communication.
- Observe all academic policies and procedures and institutional rules and regulations and demonstrate ethical and professional behavior.
The minimum qualifications for this position include:
- A Master's degree from a regionally accredited college or university in Nursing with a concentration in medical/surgical nursing; or Master's degree in Public Health, Health Care Administration, Health Promotion, or a field related to health care or education.
- Five (5) years of teaching experience in Nursing, or five (5) years of business or industry experience directly related to the field of Nursing.
- A valid driver's license and maintenance of current licensure to practice as a registered nurse in NH.
The estimated annual salary for this position is $70,000 - $90,000 based on education and experience.
