Overview

Sales Position Overview

This role involves leading the charge to grow profitable sales of decking, railing, and outdoor structures within assigned territories. The successful candidate will be responsible for making face-to-face calls to current customers, prospecting for new business, and working with inside and outside salespeople to support sales growth.


Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct on-the-job training with coworkers, providing value through customer-serving experiences.
  • Build long-lasting business relationships and sell products effectively.
  • Utilize Master Halco's internal STEPS training program to create value for internal and external customers.
  • Become a STEPS program expert, capable of leading and training Inside Sales teams using the program.
  • Ensure teammates are aware of all available sales tools and resources.
  • In situations where opportunities arise to sell non-decking and railing & outdoor structures (e.g., fencing), facilitate sales or hand them off to the appropriate salesperson.

Accountabilities
  • Lead the way in achieving sales and margin goals for decking, railing, and outdoor structures at designated branch locations:
    • Expand and diversify the customer base.
    • Launch, grow, and expand decking, railing, and outdoor structures product offerings to be a complete source for customers.
    • Work with managers to create and execute short- and long-term sales plans that are measurable and have a clear objective, including market analysis and sales strategy development.
  • Make face-to-face sales calls with a customer-serving mindset, employing principles of the STEPS program.
  • Perform hands-on product knowledge and value proposition training for associates and customers.
  • Provide Sales Support and product expertise to customers as well as Master Halco Associates.
  • Develop relationships with and enlist the help of additional internal and external resources when needed, including manufacturers and distributors.

Requirements
  • Bachelor's Degree or Work Equivalent.
  • Excellent face-to-face sales, training, and presentation skills with both small and large groups.
  • Driven and results-oriented.
  • Ability to support sales teams in new product expansion to meet company targets.
  • Ability to work with all levels of personnel within the organization.
  • Successful track record of selling into the building materials industry and home center/hardware stores, preferably.
  • Decking, Railing, Outdoor structures, Fencing, and/or Building Materials industry experience preferred.
  • Ability to travel overnight as needed.
  • Proficient with internet software, sales/presentations software, Excel, and Word processing software.
  • Valid Driver's License.
  • Ability to travel within assigned territory up to 75% of the time.

Competitive Salary

The estimated annual salary for this position is $80,000 - $100,000, depending on location and experience.
