We are seeking a highly skilled Medical Scribe to join our team at the Heart and Vascular Institute in Winchester, VA. As a Medical Scribe, you will play a critical role in documenting physician-patient interactions, medical histories, and treatment plans in a timely and accurate manner.
Key Responsibilities- Document physician-patient interactions, medical histories, and treatment plans in a timely and accurate manner
- Accompany physicians in the patient examination area to transcribe histories and physical examinations
- Transcribe consultations and discussions with family and/or patient's private physician or on-call physician
- Gather laboratory results, radiology results, medical records, and other data for review by physicians
- Ensure data is reviewed and approved by physicians before entering into the EMR
- High School Diploma or equivalent required
- Two years of college-level coursework in a relevant field preferred
- Working knowledge of medical terminology and accepted abbreviations
- Computer proficiency and ability to quickly learn new applications
- Excellent communication and organizational skills
The Medical Scribe will work in a fast-paced clinical environment, collaborating with physicians, nurses, and other healthcare professionals to provide high-quality patient care. The ideal candidate will be able to work independently and as part of a team, with a strong attention to detail and ability to prioritize tasks effectively.
