About the Role

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate individual to join our team as an Autism Intervention Specialist. As a key member of our staff, you will play a vital role in providing Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) therapy to individuals with autism spectrum disorder.

What We Offer

An estimated salary of $34,080.00 per year, based on 40 hours/week and 52 weeks/year.

Your Responsibilities

As an Autism Intervention Specialist, your primary responsibilities will include:

  1. Implementing individualized ABA therapy programs under the supervision of a Board-Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA)
  2. Working closely with clients and their families to establish rapport, trust, and effective communication
  3. Utilizing behavior management techniques to address challenging behaviors and promote positive behavior change
  4. Providing one-on-one therapy sessions to clients, following prescribed treatment plans and intervention strategies
  5. Collecting and recording data on client progress and behavior during therapy sessions
  6. Collaborating with the BCBA and other team members to analyze data and adjust intervention strategies as needed
  7. Assisting clients in developing and improving social, communication, and adaptive skills
  8. Incorporating play-based activities and structured teaching methods to engage and teach clients effectively
  9. Maintaining a safe and supportive therapeutic environment for clients and actively participating in creating a positive atmosphere
  10. Attending regular team meetings and training sessions to enhance your skills and stay up-to-date with best practices in ABA therapy
  11. Adhering to ethical guidelines and maintaining confidentiality of client information at all times
  12. Assisting in preparing progress reports and documentation for client reviews and evaluations
  13. Obtaining RBT or Registered Behavior Technician Certification within 6 months of employment

Qualifications

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • A high school diploma or equivalent; a bachelor's degree in psychology, education, or a related field is preferred
  • Previous experience working with individuals with autism or developmental disabilities is a plus
  • Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to establish positive relationships with clients, families, and colleagues
  • Patience, empathy, and a genuine desire to make a difference in the lives of others
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
  • Reliable transportation and the ability to travel to other locations within the Salem area
  • The ability to work set full-time hours: Monday-Friday 8:30am-4:30pm
