Job OverviewWe are seeking a highly motivated Environmental Remediation Specialist/Geologist/Scientist for our growing Engineering & Remediation practice in Madison, Wisconsin. This position would be part of an experienced team that works closely with Project Managers and other technical leads providing technical support for soil, groundwater, and vapor investigations, due diligence, groundwater monitoring, remediation, and regulatory compliance projects.
Key Responsibilities:- Support environmental assessment, investigation, remediation, and compliance-related projects in the field and office.
- Perform various fieldwork activities, including on-site reconnaissance, installation, and sampling of soil borings, soil vapor probes, and groundwater monitoring wells.
- Schedule and oversee excavation, drilling, and construction subcontractors.
- Utilize electronic records collection methods for field efforts.
- Prepare and review technical reports, graphics, feasibility studies, work plans, design documents, and construction documents.
- Perform data analysis and calculations and assist in database development.
- Support management of medium-to-large, complex tasks to ensure internal and external expectations are met for scope, budget, schedule, and quality.
- Assist during proposal development, including preparation of work scopes and budgets.
- Travel regionally and state-wide on short- and long-term assignments (50-100% travel depending on project requirements).
- Collaborate and interact with colleagues, clients, vendors, and subcontractors.
- Bachelor's degree in Environmental Engineering, Geological Engineering, or equivalent engineering discipline from an accredited university.
- Excellent attitude and ability to work well within a team environment.
- Excellent technical writing, communication, and computer skills.
- Must have a sense of urgency, be self-motivated, and able to prioritize tasks.
- Ability to work efficiently under multiple deadlines and changing priorities.
- Ability to manage time independently and work effectively on a project team.
- Knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite.
- Valid driver's license.
- Ability (with training) and willingness to perform and manage fieldwork (construction oversight, drilling oversight, soil/groundwater sampling, etc.) for 50-100% of the position.
