Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Installation Technician I to join our team at Hussmann, a world leader in manufacturing, selling, installing, and servicing merchandising equipment and refrigeration systems. As a key member of our installation team, you will be responsible for the timely completion of assigned projects and ensuring customer satisfaction.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assist with the installation of refrigeration systems in supermarkets, convenience stores, and cold storage facilities.
  • Responsible for acquiring knowledge through on-the-job training, including new product developments, service bulletins, and issues.
  • Complete necessary documents, such as time sheets, in a thorough, accurate, and timely manner to meet customer invoicing requirements.
  • Read and comprehend plans and blueprints to ensure accurate installation of cabling, communication loops, and components associated with energy management and refrigerant leak systems.
  • Diagnose water leak complaints, remove cases from trucks without damage, install PVC drain pipe, recognize major case types, locate and set superheat specifications, and perform other duties as required.
  • Read, analyze, and interpret plans, specifications, contract documents, control drawings, service bulletins, technical procedure manuals, equipment specifications, and governmental regulations.
  • Maintain and manage truck inventory in an accurate, neat, and orderly manner, adhering to vehicle maintenance program guidelines.
Requirements
  • High school diploma or equivalent, or 10 years of experience and/or training, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • 1 year of experience with a high school diploma or equivalent, or 0 years of experience with a technical degree.
  • EPA 608 certification preferred.
  • Valid driver's license and a safe driving record.
  • Physically able to climb ladders, work at high elevations, and lift objects up to 50 pounds.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, detail-oriented, and highly motivated.
  • Mechanical aptitude.
  • Ability to work nights, weekends, and out of town as required.
  • Ability to successfully manage multiple, competing priorities/tasks in a fast-paced work environment.
  • Strong organizational, time management skills.
  • High level of professionalism and diplomacy.
  • Strong customer focus skills.
  • Strong project management skills and high attention to detail.
  • Demonstrated ability to make decisions, learn quickly, think rationally, and exercise good judgment.
  • Work effectively in a diverse team environment.
  • Ability to work both individually and as part of a team with minimal supervision.
