Packaging Development Specialist

Adept Group is seeking a Packaging Development Specialist to join their team. This role will involve creating and implementing packaging specifications based on product requirements and industry standards.
The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of packaging materials, formats, and processes, as well as experience with project timeline development and resource planning for trials.
The Packaging Development Specialist will work closely with the leadership team to develop packaging solutions for various projects, and will be responsible for managing the approval process for packaging specifications and graphics.
This is an onsite role that requires 5 days of work in East Hanover, NJ.
Key Responsibilities:
- Create and implement packaging specifications based on product requirements and industry standards.
- Conduct pilot and industrial trials to assess packaging performance and make necessary adjustments.
- Develop feasibility studies to evaluate the practicality and cost-effectiveness of packaging solutions for various projects.
- Manage the approval process for packaging specifications and graphics, ensuring compliance with company standards and regulatory requirements.
- Collaborate with suppliers to provide clear briefings for packaging development, request samples, and define die lines and specifications.
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in the field of Engineering (e.g. Packaging, Chemical, Mechanical, Production) or Industrial Design.
- Minimum 6 years packaging engineering experience, specifically in Food & Beverage or CPG.
- Technical depth on a packaging material, format, or process.
- Advanced understanding of the full packaging development and qualification process (or stage gate process).
- Advanced knowledge of resource planning for trials.
- Advanced understanding of project timeline development.
- Demonstrated effective communications (verbally and in writing) across internal and external teams.
- Demonstrated ability to multitask and manage time efficiently and effectively across multiple activities and tasks simultaneously.
