The Assistant Director of Information Technology is a critical role within Fair Haven Community Health Care's IT department. As the second-in-command, this individual will provide operational support to the Director and assume leadership responsibilities in their absence.

Key Responsibilities

  • Network Security and Management: Oversee network equipment and infrastructure, ensuring optimal performance and security. This includes managing cybersecurity measures, conducting risk assessments, testing data processing systems, and designing firewalls.
  • Report Generation and Training: Collaborate with the quality team to generate reports on clinical metrics for medical, dental, behavioral health, and substance use disorder providers. Provide training and direction to IT staff on report generation and other technical topics.
  • Cisco Telephony Support: Assist with Cisco telephony technology and serve as an expert on specific telephony technologies, working closely with the Director to ensure seamless operations.
  • Helpdesk Management: Oversee daily helpdesk operations, delegating tasks to IT technicians and handling high-level tickets efficiently.
  • Project Development and Planning: Assist in the development, planning, and deployment of major IT projects, ensuring timely and successful outcomes.
  • Budget Management: Contribute to the creation and maintenance of the IT budget, making informed decisions to optimize resource allocation.
  • Process Improvement: Identify areas for improvement and implement streamlined workflows and automation to increase efficiency.
  • Cybersecurity Program Management: Direct the work of the cybersecurity specialist, overseeing email security, vulnerability management, incident response, data loss prevention, and global cybersecurity objectives.

Requirements and Qualifications

To succeed in this role, you'll need:

  • A Bachelor's degree in Information Technology or equivalent (A+, Net+, Security+, MCP certifications) and at least five years of increasingly responsible job experience, preferably in the health field.
  • Expertise in PC hardware, Microsoft client operating systems, email concepts, MS Office, file sharing, printing, workgroup vs. domain-based networks, backup software, Active Directory, Office 365, networking concepts, and devices.
  • Demonstrated analytical problem-solving skills and familiarity with combating malware issues and mobile devices (iOS and Android).
