Job Title: General Maintenance Technician

ASRC Federal Holding Company is seeking a highly skilled General Maintenance Technician to join our team. This is a permanent, non-rotational position located at King Salmon Divert Airfield, Alaska.

Job Summary:

The General Maintenance Technician will perform general maintenance and repair of equipment and buildings, requiring practical skill and knowledge in various trades such as painting, carpentry, HVAC, plumbing, masonry, and electrical work. The incumbent will assist journeyman technicians and perform assigned work orders and recurring maintenance tasks with minimal supervision.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Assist journeyman technicians in performing various tasks as needed.
  • Supply workers with materials and tools, hold materials or tools, clean work areas, machines, and equipment.
  • Makes repairs to walls and ceilings using plaster or compound to patch minor holes and cracks, including replacing or repairing ceiling tiles.
  • Replaces or repairs sinks, water coolers, and/or toilets.
  • Assists with corrosion control techniques for structures and equipment.
  • Replaces or repairs damaged paneling, floor tiles, and carpet.
  • Replaces or repairs concrete floors, steps, and sidewalks.
  • Replaces or repairs doors, windows, and associated hardware.
  • Performs general maintenance on equipment and machinery.
  • Removes snow from sidewalks, driveways, and parking lots using a shovel and/or snow blower or other types of similar equipment; also applies ice melt and/or sand to those areas as required.
  • Removes vegetation using walking or riding lawn mowers, weed eaters, and similar equipment.
  • Replaces or repairs fences, gates, guardrails, culverts.
  • Moves and arranges heavy pieces of office equipment and household furniture, equipment, and appliances as needed.
  • Inspects work to ensure compliance with plans, specifications, policies, and regulations.
  • Ensures proper housekeeping of jobsites, mechanical rooms, and shops.
  • Ensures that equipment, storage, and maintenance areas are clean, safe, and serviceable conditions.
  • Responds to call-outs after normal working hours as needed.
  • Performs other tasks as directed by Management or Designated Representative.
  • Assists other trades and craft personnel in their daily operations as directed.
Barrier Technician Duties:
  • Keeps Management apprised of unique situations and problems encountered.
  • Makes recommendations and advises Management regarding continuous process, quality, and efficiency improvements.
  • Maintains current certifications for self and barrier team members.
  • Ensures installed Barrier Systems are operational and pits are always clean.
  • Responsible for annual BAK-12 Barrier Team Training.
  • Mandatory 2.0 hr. Over Time on Saturday and Sunday for Barrier Rounds.
Accountable For:
  • The safe use of hand and power tools used in the course of routine or incidental work performed.
  • Demonstrating knowledge of Airfield Safety to include but not limited to: Flightline driving, communications and radio protocols, FOD prevention, Environmental Protection and Pollution Prevention, and aircraft movement.
  • Demonstrating personal and enforcing Team Members Safety to include but not limited to: wearing of appropriate PPE, access to Confined Spaces, Daily Safety Awareness, Accident and Fire Prevention and control over hazardous Materials.
  • Performing duties in a timely, accurate, and cost-effective manner.
  • Working closely, respectfully, and harmoniously with other employees and customers.
  • Working independently without continuous supervision.
  • Assist other trades in the safe execution of work being performed to include but not limited to: performing recurring work, maintenance, repairs, and installing new equipment and power distribution cables.
  • Following and adhering to all ASRC and Air Force policies and procedures including safety and reporting requirements.
Requirements:
  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs.
  • Valid state driver's license with an acceptable driving record.
  • Ability to obtain within 6 months of hire BAK-12 AAS task-certified power production 5-level journeyman "Training and Certification provided on site".
  • Obtain and maintain a Federal Government Security Clearance (NACI).
  • Ability to successfully pass a pre-employment physical and drug test.
  • Pass a Fire Brigade physical and remain an active member of the Fire Brigade.
Work Conditions:

The employee is regularly required to understand verbal and written instructions, provide information, and respond to safety warnings. Work conditions require the employee to stand; climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl; and work on scaffolding and ladders. The employee may frequently lift and/or move objects weighing up to 75 pounds.
