Lab Technician

Job Summary
Garelick Farms, a leading dairy farmer and producer, is seeking a skilled Lab Technician to join our team. As a key member of our quality assurance team, you will be responsible for ensuring the highest standards of quality and safety in our products.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform quality control activities, including process inspection, sampling, and evaluation to meet specification and quality standards
- Test incoming and outgoing products for suitability and compliance with applicable standards
- Prepare and maintain laboratory instrumentation, including calibration and maintenance
- Monitor quality problems or trends and notify supervisor immediately
- Maintain accurate and complete records, including data entry into computer systems
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent, coupled with food manufacturing, laboratory, or quality assurance experience
- Up to 1 year of food manufacturing laboratory or quality assurance experience preferred
- Certification and/or license may be required during employment, such as Better Processing Certificate or state certification for antibiotic testing
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
- Familiarity with laboratory equipment and Microsoft Office Suite
- Ability to use calculations for laboratory analysis and follow laboratory procedures and regulations
- Excellent record-keeping skills, attention to detail, and ability to work with accuracy
- Effective communication and teamwork skills, with ability to identify problems and implement solutions
