Job Overview

MMI Engineered Solutions is seeking a detail-oriented and dedicated General Ledger Accountant to join our dynamic Finance Team. This role is pivotal in maintaining accurate financial records, supporting the CFO and Controller, and ensuring the seamless execution of various accounting functions.

Key Responsibilities
  • Cash Disbursements: Process weekly cash disbursements for our Mexico Operations under the direction of the Controller.
  • Credit Card Management: Oversee employee credit card applications and charges.
  • Petty Cash: Manage the petty cash account efficiently.
  • Fixed Assets: Maintain fixed assets and associated depreciation schedules.
  • Customer Pricing: Own the process of managing customer pricing in IQMS.
  • Discrepancy Resolution: Research and resolve discrepancies related to receiving, supplier invoices, freight, purchase order pricing, etc., ensuring accurate recording of inventory, expenses, and payments.
  • Procedure Development: Analyze and recommend improvements to existing accounting procedures.
  • Billing Backup: Provide backup support for US Operations in billing activities, including accounts payable and receivable.
  • Month-End Close: Assist in month-end financial statement close activities as needed.
  • Metrics Preparation: Collect data and prepare monthly financial metrics.
  • Project Support: Contribute to various accounting projects as necessary.
  • Costing and Inventory Analysis: Assist with standard costing and inventory analysis.
Requirements
  • Education: Bachelor's degree in Accounting or a related business field with an emphasis in accounting.
  • Experience: Minimum of 2 years of relevant experience.
  • Technical Skills: Proficiency in MS Excel and accounting software is highly desirable.
  • Communication: Strong written and verbal communication skills are essential.
  • Attention to Detail: Ability to maintain accuracy and focus, even under tight deadlines.
  • Problem-Solving: Adept at analyzing and solving problems with a proactive approach.
  • Work Ethic: Willingness to work extended hours when necessary to meet critical deadlines.
