Job Summary

We are seeking a highly motivated and empathetic Recovery Support Specialist to join our CCBHC Mobile Crisis Program. As a key member of our team, you will work collaboratively with individuals to develop personalized recovery plans, link them to community resources, and provide non-clinical crisis support. Your exceptional communication skills, combined with your ability to convey empathy and understanding, will make a significant impact on the lives of our clients.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop and implement person-centered recovery plans in collaboration with individuals.
  • Link patients to social and other support services in the community.
  • Teach coping skills and strategies to individuals and family members.
  • Support the application process for benefits.
  • Provide non-clinical crisis support after periods of hospitalization or incarceration.
  • Accompany individuals to court appearances and medical appointments.
  • Engage individuals with formal recovery support services.
  • Educate individuals and family members on various modes of recovery.
Requirements:
  • High School Graduate or Equivalency required.
  • Certified Recovery Peer Advocate (CRPA) or OMH Peer Certification required within six months of hire and must maintain certification throughout employment.
  • One year of Health or Human Service experience preferred.
  • An individual does not need to be in recovery themselves but must be able to confer empathy through lived experiences such as family and/or close friends (each peer specialist self-defines his or her "peer-ness").
  • Must have a valid NYS Driver's License.

Salary Information:

The salary range for this position is $15.54 - $24.00 per hour, based on education level and experience. This estimate may vary depending on the location and other factors.

Location:

This role is located in Syracuse, NY, and requires working on an onsite basis.
