Nursing Supervisor

### Job Summary:

As a Weekend RN Supervisor at SLP Operations, you will oversee the day-to-day nursing functions of an assigned area, supervising Certified Nursing Assistants and providing nursing care to residents as prescribed by physicians and in accordance with standards of nursing practices and regulations.

### Key Responsibilities:

* Supervise other professional and non-professional staff in the delivery of resident care
* Schedule job assignments and develop nursing unit priorities
* Orient new staff and participate in the recruitment and selection of nursing personnel
* Communicate policies, assist and coach as needed
* Monitor work assignments, provide feedback, evaluate performance, and redirect and discipline employees as needed

### Additional Responsibilities:

* Prepare and review medical records and nurses notes
* Assess residents physical and emotional status
* Monitor resident activity and provide nursing care according to physicians orders, care plans, established standards and facility policies
* Coordinate and assist with new admissions, transfers, and discharges
* Transcribe physicians telephone orders
* Communicate with residents, family members, other interdisciplinary team members, and management regarding residents status

### Requirements:

* Must be a Registered Nurse (RN) in good standing and currently licensed by the State
* Must be able to relate positively to residents and families and work cooperatively with other employees
* Must be capable of maintaining regular attendance
* Must meet all local health regulations, and successfully complete a post-offer health assessment
* Must be capable of performing the essential functions of this job, with or without reasonable accommodation
* Experience as a Charge Nurse or supervisory experience preferred

### Physical and Sensory Requirements:

* Walking, reaching, climbing, bending, lifting, grasping, fine hand coordination, pushing and pulling
* Ability to hear and respond to pages
* Ability to distinguish smells, tastes and temperatures
* Ability to read and write
* Ability to communicate both verbally and in writing with residents, families, personnel, vendors, and consultants
* Ability to remain calm under stress
