New Grad RN, Cardiopulmonary/Telemetry Specialist

Job Summary:
Central Maine Medical Center is seeking a highly motivated and compassionate Registered Nurse (RN) to join our Cardiopulmonary/Telemetry team as a New Grad RN. This is a 12-month residency program designed to support the transition of new graduate nurses into professional practice.
Responsibilities:
- Provide direct and indirect patient care in the acute care setting using time management skills to care for patients
- Obtain nursing history, perform nursing assessment and develop plan of care for patients
- Demonstrate knowledge of medications and their correct administration based on age of the patient and their clinical condition
- Treat patients and their families with respect and dignity
- Identify and address psychosocial, cultural, ethnic and religious/spiritual needs of patients and their families
- Functions as liaison between administration, patients, physicians and other healthcare providers
- Demonstrate knowledge of the principles of growth and development over the life span and the skills necessary to provide age appropriate care to the patient population served
- Consults other health team members/departments as appropriate to provide for an interdisciplinary approach to the patient's needs
- Documentation meets current standards and policies
- Manages and operates equipment safely and correctly
- Coordinates and supervises patient care as necessary
- Demonstrates an ability to be flexible, organized and function under stressful situations
- Maintains a safe, comfortable and therapeutic environment for patients and families in accordance with hospital standards
- Enhances professional growth and development through participation in educational programs, current literature, in-service meetings and workshops; shows responsibility for own professional practice and ongoing education
- Completes competency-based orientation
- Educating and advocating for our patients. This includes making sure patients and their families understand the health issues they're facing and the potential resources available to them, while serving as their advocate in order to promote the best possible outcome for each patient
- A passion to bring kindness to both patients and coworkers that promotes a team-building environment and a great place to work each day
Requirements:
- Recent graduate from an accredited ADN or BSN program with less than 1-year experience
- Active nurse licensure or eligible to obtain Maine State licensure
- Active BLS certification
