About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Procurement & Supply Specialist III to join our team in Oahu. As a key member of our procurement department, you will be responsible for driving strategic procurement and supply chain success by ensuring timely, cost-effective, and high-quality goods and services are delivered to meet our agency's needs.

Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement effective procurement strategies that align with our agency's goals and objectives.
  • Manage complex procurements, including developing specifications, conducting research, and evaluating vendor proposals.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to identify business needs and develop solutions that meet those needs.
  • Analyze market trends, price volatility, and other factors to ensure optimal procurement outcomes.
  • Maintain accurate records, reports, and databases related to procurement activities.
  • Stay up-to-date on relevant laws, regulations, policies, and procedures governing procurement practices.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university.
  • At least 1.5 years of progressively responsible work experience in purchasing, including experience working with users and vendors to identify, clarify, and specify requirements for products, materials, equipment, or services.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of purchasing methods and techniques, as well as ability to interview users, vendors, and others regarding user requirements.
  • Ability to conduct pertinent research regarding unique user requirements and characteristics of desired products, equipment, materials, etc.
  • Ability to assess user needs and circumstances, including operational requirements, policies, agency procedures, and related requirements, and conduct analyses to identify and recommend specific products most appropriate for the agency/organization's needs.
  • Familiarity with concerns collateral to purchasing, including storage and distribution concerns and inventory maintenance.
