Job Overview
BioLife Plasma Services is a subsidiary of Takeda Pharmaceutical Company Ltd. As a Medical Support Specialist, you will play a vital role in supporting plasma center operations and ensuring the highest level of customer service and quality.

About the Role
This position requires you to determine donor eligibility to donate plasma, manage donor adverse events, review laboratory test results, and notify donors of unsuitable test results. You will work under the guidance of the Center Manager (or Assistant Manager as applicable) for operational guidance and under the management of the Center Physician for medical issues. Familiarity with regulations of the plasma collection industry or a manufacturing environment is essential.

Key Responsibilities
• Determine donor eligibility, including proper management of informed consent, AIDS education, and confidential self-exclusion
• Conduct medical history interviews and acceptances, physical examinations, blood testing, and reviewing Serological Protein Electrophoresis (SPE)
• Evaluate donor reactions, following SOPs for medical emergencies, including the development of Center Physician's standing orders and donor transport to emergency care facilities
• Refer to the Center Physician or Medical Affairs when needed, providing unacceptable findings to donors or guidance concerning medical or technical issues, including donor safety and eligibility
• Support the Hepatitis B and Seasonal Flu vaccination programs for employees as applicable
• Manage employee incidents, determining whether further evaluation is required by occupational health/ER

Requirements
To be successful in this role, you must have:
1. A high school diploma or equivalent, including a graduate equivalent of a recognized educational nursing program with state requirements
2. Current licensure or certification in the state where responsibilities will be assigned: EMT-Paramedic
3. Current Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) and AED certification
4. Fulfillment of state requirements (in state of licensure) for basic IV therapy
5. Satisfactory completion of the FDA-approved training requirements for BioLife Medical Support Specialist
6. Two years of experience in a clinical or hospital setting

Compensation and Benefits
The estimated hourly wage range for this position is $21.15-$29.09. U.S.-based employees may be eligible for short-term incentives.
