Job Summary

We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Support Instructor to join our Adult Day Program team at Friends of Children with Special Needs.

Your primary responsibility will be to provide training, supervision, and personal care assistance to adults with developmental challenges. You will work closely with the Program Coordinator to implement Person-Centered Thinking (PCT) activities, promoting participants' overall skills and personal growth.

About the Role
  • You will provide one-on-one support and guidance to participants, helping them develop their self-care skills, independence, and optimal health.
  • You will lead classes and activities tailored to participants' diverse needs, skills, and interests.
  • You will assist participants in exploring community resources, planning, and attending community events.
  • You will implement positive behavioral prevention strategies and interventions.
  • You will effectively communicate with participants, families, team members, and supervisors.
Requirements
  • A high school diploma is required; a higher education degree is preferred.
  • At least one year of experience working with individuals with developmental disabilities or a strong passion for working with this population.
  • Good oral and written communication skills.
  • Ability to teach, conduct training, and classes.
  • Sufficient skills in using Microsoft Office applications, email, and data entry.
