Certification and Experience Requirements

We are seeking a highly skilled Nuclear Medicine Technologist to join our team at IU Health Bedford Hospital. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in nuclear medicine and be certified in BLS, NMTCB, and IN License. CT Certification and ARRT Advanced Cert. are preferred.

Job Details
  • We are accepting pending IN license applicants.
  • First-time travelers are welcome to apply.
  • A minimum of 1.5 years of experience is required.
  • The daily caseload is 3 patients.
Job Requirements
  • Shift requirements: Monday through Thursday, 7am to 5pm.
  • No call or weekends are required.
  • Certification requirements: BLS, NMTCB, IN License Required; CT Certification, ARRT Advanced Cert. Preferred.
  • NMTCB and ARRT certifications are equivalent, and the candidate must be board certified in nuclear medicine.
  • Skillset requirements: Work setting experience in outpatient and inpatient settings is required; ER, teaching hospital, and adult ICU experience is preferred.
  • General skills experience in IV starts, PACS is required; phlebotomy and EKGs are preferred.
  • Nuclear medicine procedure experience in cardiac, bone scan, liver/spleen scan, lung scan, renal flow, thyroid studies, tumor localization, SPECT, and myocardial is required.
  • Floating is 100% required for all travelers; candidates will float within the hospital or to an affiliate hospital as needed.
Schedule Information
  • Shift requirements: Monday through Thursday, 7am to 5pm.
  • No call or weekends are required.
Unit Specific Information
  • Our nuclear medicine department averages 55 patients monthly.
  • No call or weekends are required, but the technologist will be required to communicate with the inpatient floor and order doses for after-hour inpatient add-ons for the next business day.
  • Common procedures include cardiac SPECT, HIDA, gastric emptying, and bone scan.
  • Rare procedures include GI bleed, infection WBC, bone marrow, MUGA, lymphatic, and liver/spleen.
